Epoxy midcoat based on an amine hardener

KHS Midcoat 300 is an air-drying and force-drying coating based on epoxy resin and an amine hardener. The product functions as the second layer in the Korthals C3 coating system and strengthens the corrosion protection of the primer while optimizing adhesion with the topcoat.
The midcoat is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, provided it is finished with KHS Protect as the final layer. KHS Midcoat 300 is part of a three-layer system that, as a whole, complies with the C3 classification according to ISO 12944.

KHS Midcoat 300 builds on the adhesion of the primer and creates a robust intermediate layer that densifies the overall coating system and enhances corrosion protection.
In combination with KHS Primer 100 and KHS Protect, KHS Midcoat 300 forms a fully certified three-layer C3 system for steel structures.
Dust-dry after 20 minutes and tack-free after 45 minutes. The fast drying time ensures an efficient workflow, even in project-based situations with tight schedules.

The chemical cross-linking of epoxy resin and amine hardener creates a compact, sealed intermediate layer.
KHS Midcoat 300 enhances the corrosion protection of the underlying primer while optimizing adhesion with the topcoat.
Dust-dry after 20 minutes, but fully assembly-ready only after 16 hours. This gives the applicator sufficient time for precise application while keeping project turnaround times as short as possible.
The cured midcoat is resistant to mild chemical exposure and weather conditions.

Intermediate layer in the C3 system for steel structures in public infrastructure.

Effective midcoat for steelwork in humid or moderately aggressive environments.

Second protective layer for metal structures exposed to weather conditions.
Suitable wherever the complete three-layer C3 system is required or desired.
