We are proud to announce that Korthals Group B.V., hereafter referred to as Korthals Group, has been certified according to the international ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards. The certification covers all subsidiaries: HIM Products B.V., Soen’s Meubelbeitsen B.V., and Lakfabriek Korthals B.V. This milestone marks our commitment to quality and sustainability, and our ongoing effort to provide customers and stakeholders with high-quality and responsible products.
Robert Woerdeman, owner of the Korthals Group, looks back with satisfaction on the certification process. “The ISO 9001 certificate emphasizes our focus on quality in every aspect of our production process. For customers, the certificate is an important quality guarantee. It underlines that our formulas have been carefully checked and are consistently executed. In short, it confirms that Korthals Group always delivers the same high-quality products. It also assures that customers can rely on high-quality guidance, throughout the entire order and delivery process.”
ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems. Achieving the ISO 14001 certification in addition to ISO 9001 felt like a logical next step, adds Ron Fransen, business manager at the Korthals Group. “It confirms our commitment to continually improving sustainability. It shows that we are aware of the environmental risks that can arise from our business activities and that we are capable of managing them effectively.”
In developing products, the Korthals Group has long been committed to sustainable solutions. For example, lead-containing coatings and paints were banned years ago. In addition, the Korthals Group believes in a solvent-free future. E.g.: water-based alternatives have been developed across the entire product portfolio that are qualitatively as good as the solvent-based products.
As part of ISO 14001, the Korthals Group reports on the environmental aspects of all business activities and actively creates awareness about sustainability among customers and stakeholders.
The Korthals Group views the achieved ISO certifications as a stepping stone to further advancements. Ron explains: “As a forward-thinking company, we are also working towards becoming an ARIE company. This process includes additional risk assessments and evaluations to optimize the internal safety and quality of our procedures. We are well advanced in the certification process and expect a successful audit in the third quarter of this year.”
Previously, the Korthals Group had already focused on automation with partner Collabite B.V. (formerly De Computerwacht B.V.). “This has not only led to a structural acceleration of our work processes but has also improved quality”, says Ron. “Consider it a form of process monitoring. An order will only proceed when the trademark and certificate documentation is in order.”
Many thanks to Kroon Organisatie Advies, KPD consultants and BMD Advies for their support during the certification process.
