Lacquer factory Korthals expands its range of anti-graffiti coatings with a waterborne variant. The coating provides long-lasting protection against graffiti, (splash) water, dirt, and a variety of other influences. Below, you’ll learn more about how this coating works.
Korthals’ new waterborne anti-graffiti coating is a permanent coating – offering several advantages over semi-permanent coatings. Semi-permanent coatings are suitable for one-time use and operate on a sacrificial principle. A wax layer (often based on polysaccharides) is applied to the surface to be protected, serving as a buffer against graffiti and/or other pollution. When the contaminated surface is cleaned, the graffiti is indeed removed, but so is the protective layer. This protective layer needs to be reapplied after each cleaning, which is not only time-consuming but also very costly.
Wide range of applications for waterborne anti-graffiti coating
Korthals’ permanent, waterborne anti-graffiti coatings offer a sustainable solution against graffiti on wooden, metal, and stony surfaces. In most cases, a transparent layer is chosen to preserve the effect or structure of the surface. If the surface is well-sealed, no primer is needed. Colored versions are also possible. Unlike in Belgium, the use of solvent-based products for indoor use has been restricted in the Netherlands. With the introduction of a waterborne anti-graffiti coating, Lacquer factory Korthals now offers suitable solutions for indoor applications as well. Think of walls in sanitary facilities and other vandalism-prone areas.
However, waterborne anti-graffiti coatings also prove their value for outdoor use. These coatings protect the surfaces of infrastructure objects such as:
