The American Automobile Club (AAC), the Dutch association for owners of American vehicles, managed to get hold of a very special model of the 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner. The oldtimer could use a makeover, so the association appealed to the paints of Korthals. With our primers, black and red lacquers, we restored this beautiful car to its former glory. The results are impressive!<\/p>\n

Few cars are more iconic than the 1959 Ford Galaxie Skyliner. This legendary car was at the time the top of the Ford line and sparkled in Hollywood’s heyday in many film screenings. Ford’s popular racer made and still makes many men’s and women’s hearts beat faster. It is therefore a particularly popular collector’s item among old-timer fanatics. The AAC breathed new life into this car and thus responded with great success to its mission to preserve American car heritage in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

The body is now in the paint and is back on the chassis. The paint flows abundantly: because of all the nooks and crannies, more paint is used than you initially think. The applicator had to use a brush in a number of places, because not all places were accessible with the spray gun. Now the doors, the roof, the bonnet, the boot lid and the mudguards are next. Then the real re-building can begin.<\/p>\n
